AnyVision Media respects your right to control your personal data. Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa, you have the right to request the deletion (also known as "erasure") of your personal information that we hold.
This page explains exactly what data we may have collected, how to submit a deletion request, and what happens after you do.
2. Your Right to Data Deletion
Under Section 24 of POPIA, you have the right to request that a responsible party delete or destroy personal information about you that:
Is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading, or obtained unlawfully
We are no longer authorised to retain
We will honour all valid deletion requests within the timeframes specified by POPIA. If we are unable to delete certain data due to legal or contractual obligations, we will clearly explain what data is retained and why.
3. What Data We Hold
Depending on how you have interacted with AnyVision Media, we may hold the following personal information:
Local storage: Theme preference ("avm-theme") — stored on your device only, not on our servers
Server logs: IP address and request timestamps (managed by Netlify)
Contact Form Submissions
Full name
Email address
Company name
Service interest
Project description
Submission timestamp
Consulting Clients
All of the above, plus:
Company details and billing information
Project documentation, communications, and deliverables
Calendar bookings and meeting notes
Any data provided during the course of the engagement
4. How to Request Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your personal data by following these steps:

Send an Email
Email your request to hello@anyvision.media with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". You can use our template below.

Identity Verification
We will verify your identity within 5 business days to ensure the request is legitimate and comes from the data subject (or an authorised representative).

Confirmation & Processing
Once verified, we will confirm what data will be deleted and process the deletion. You will receive a confirmation email once complete.

6. Process & Timeline
We aim to process all data deletion requests as efficiently as possible:

POPIA requires us to respond to your request within 30 calendar days. In most cases, we complete the process sooner. If additional time is needed, we will notify you with an explanation.
7. What Gets Deleted
Upon a valid deletion request, we will permanently remove:
Contact form submissions: Your name, email, company, service interest, and project description from our Netlify Forms storage
Email correspondence: All emails exchanged between you and AnyVision Media (from our systems — we cannot delete emails from your own inbox)
Calendar bookings: Consultation bookings and associated notes
Client project data: Project documentation, deliverables, and any data you provided (subject to contractual and legal obligations)
CRM records: Any contact records stored in our business tools
8. Exceptions & Retention Requirements
In certain circumstances, we may be unable to delete specific data. These exceptions include:
Legal Obligations
We may be required to retain certain records for compliance with South African tax law (e.g., SARS requirements mandate retention of financial records for 5 years), the Companies Act, or other applicable regulations.
Contractual Obligations
If you are a consulting client with an active or recently concluded engagement, certain project records may need to be retained for the duration specified in your Statement of Work or service agreement.
Legitimate Interest
In limited cases, we may retain anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer be linked to you, for the purpose of business analytics and service improvement.
If any exceptions apply, we will clearly inform you which data is being retained, the legal basis for retention, and the expected retention period.
9. Third-Party Data Deletion
When we process your deletion request, we will also instruct the following third-party processors to delete your data:
Google Analytics: Analytics data is collected in anonymised form. You can also delete your own data via Google's Data & Privacy settings
Google Calendar: Consultation bookings and associated event data
Please note that third-party services have their own data deletion timelines and processes. We will confirm when third-party deletions have been requested.
10. Verification & Security
To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorised deletion, we verify the identity of every requester:
Email verification: Your request must come from the same email address associated with your data, or you must provide sufficient identifying information
Authorised representatives: If someone else is submitting a request on your behalf, we require written authorisation (such as a signed letter or power of attorney)
Additional verification: In some cases, we may request additional information to confirm your identity before proceeding
We will never ask for sensitive information such as ID numbers or financial details as part of the verification process.
11. After Deletion
Once your data has been deleted:
You will receive a written confirmation via email detailing what data was deleted and from which systems
The deletion is permanent and irreversible — we cannot recover deleted data
If you had an active consulting engagement, the engagement will be considered terminated as of the deletion date
You are welcome to use our Website and services again in the future — new data will be treated as a fresh interaction
Clearing Local Data
Our Website stores your theme preference (light/dark mode) in your browser's local storage. This data is not stored on our servers and can only be cleared by you:
Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove for anyvisionmedia.com
Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data
